Geography Teacher — Energetic 11-16 Academy in Birmingham

Salary: Paid to scale pro-rata

An energetic community-centred 11-16 academy in Birmingham is seeking a part-time Geography Teacher to join its active Humanities faculty. This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who wants to make Geography feel urgent real and relevant for students living in one of the UKs largest and most dynamic cities.

You will teach Geography across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (AQA) with the urban geography of Birmingham itself forming a rich backdrop to much of what you teach from regeneration and migration to climate vulnerability and inequality. The role includes planning and supporting local urban fieldwork contributing to whole-school sustainability events and maintaining accurate assessment records. You will also contribute to the Humanities facultys cross-curricular enrichment programme which connects geography to history citizenship and PSHE.

Requirements

• Degree in Geography and QTS

• Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 Geography

• Enthusiasm for urban fieldwork and place-based relevant teaching approaches

• Willingness to contribute to cross-curricular enrichment and sustainability events

• Good communication and organisational skills suited to a part-time role
