Functional Skills Assessor Hybrid

Role Summary

We are looking for a committed and motivated Functional Skills Maths and English Assessor to join our Adult Skills Online team. This is a hybrid role focused on supporting adult learners to achieve Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English up to Level 2.

You will play a key role in assessing learner progress marking work monitoring attendance facilitating examinations and supporting learners throughout their learning journey. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders you will help maintain high standards of teaching learning and assessment while contributing to curriculum development and learner achievement.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver online assessment and support for Functional Skills Maths and English programmes.
Mark learner assignments and monitor learner progress towards successful completion.
Manage administrative processes including admissions attendance monitoring learner records quality assurance and examination arrangements.
Support curriculum development and contribute to the continuous improvement of learning materials and programmes.
Analyse attendance retention and achievement data to support performance improvement.
Provide guidance coaching and mentoring to learners to help them achieve their goals.
Recruit and enrol learners onto programmes and support the achievement of enrolment targets.
Deliver effective blended learning and tutorials that promote learner engagement and progression.
Participate in promotional activities including Open Days Admissions Events and Roadshows.
Work collaboratively with curriculum teams external stakeholders and support services to enhance the learner experience.

Essential Criteria

Relevant subject-related degree or equivalent qualification.
Minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English.
Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
Excellent subject knowledge of Functional Skills Maths and/or English and relevant qualification frameworks.
Strong administrative organisational and communication skills with confidence using digital learning technologies including MS Teams.

Important Things to Note

In DN Colleges we call this role Functional Skills Maths and English Assessor - Hybrid but you might know this as Functional Skills Tutor Functional Skills Lecturer English and Maths Tutor Online Functional Skills Assessor Adult Education Tutor.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.
Occasional evening and weekend working may be required to support learner recruitment and college events.
