Job Summary
A thriving secondary school in Wigan is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Food Technology Teacher to join its dedicated department on a full-time basis with an ASAP start.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who can inspire students to develop practical skills creativity and a strong understanding of food preparation nutrition and food science. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons and support students to achieve their full potential.
The successful Food Technology Teacher will teach across KS3 to KS5 delivering practical and engaging lessons while ensuring students develop both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons
Teaching across KS3 KS4 and KS5
Preparing students effectively for GCSE and A Level examinations
Supporting practical work and coursework
Assessing and monitoring student progress
Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations
Contributing to departmental planning and wider school activities

QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
Degree in Food Technology Food Science Design Technology or a related subject
Strong subject knowledge
Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
Ability to teach confidently through KS5
Strong classroom management and communication skills
A genuine passion for Food Technology and education
