Are you passionate about maintaining clean safe and welcoming healthcare environments Join Western District Health Service as a Hotel Services Assistant where youll help ensure our hospital and residential care facilities are presented to the highest standards for patients residents visitors and staff.
This is a role for someone who values teamwork reliability and attention to detail and who wants to make a genuine difference by supporting a clean hygienic and safe environment that contributes to positive healthcare experiences and high-quality care outcomes.
What Youll Be Doing
As part of our dedicated Hotel Services team youll help maintain clean safe and welcoming environments that support high-quality care for patients residents visitors and staff.
Environmental Cleaning & Presentation
Maintain a clean hygienic comfortable and tidy environment across clinical residential and corporate areas ensuring facilities are presented to a high standard.
Kitchenette Servicing & Basic Food Services
Undertake cleaning and servicing of kitchenettes and assist with basic food service duties as required.
General Cleaning Duties
Perform a range of cleaning tasks including dusting vacuuming mopping carpet cleaning window cleaning and toilet servicing.
Waste & Linen Management
Support the efficient collection handling and disposal of waste and assist with linen management processes in line with organisational requirements.
Infection Prevention & Control
Undertake infectious cleaning procedures and follow approved infection prevention practices to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
Public & Corporate Area Maintenance
Clean offices public areas and shared spaces to ensure a welcoming environment for staff patients residents and visitors.
External Environment Maintenance
Assist with external cleaning duties to support the overall presentation safety and cleanliness of WDHS facilities.
Quality Safety & Compliance
Follow established cleaning procedures workplace safety requirements and organisational standards to deliver high-quality outcomes and support a safe environment for all.
What You Bring
- Relevant qualifications equivalent industry experience or a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn hospitality and cleaning service skills
- Commitment to undertaking required training and developing knowledge within the hospitality and hotel services environment
- Strong customer service skills with a commitment to delivering positive experiences for patients residents visitors and staff
- Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning practices hygiene standards cleaning equipment and food safety requirements
- Understanding of waste management principles and the importance of maintaining safe and compliant workplace practices
- Well-developed time management planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- Positive interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and engage with a broad range of people
- Flexibility to work across multiple areas within the Hotel Services Department and a commitment to the WDHS mission and values of Integrity Innovation Collaboration Accountability Respect and Empathy
