Fire Risk Assessor and Door Surveyor
Job Summary
Could you be Incommunities new Fire Risk Assessor & Door Surveyor Youll play a key role in ensuring our high medium and low-rise buildings have up-to-date fire risk assessments while making sure all high-risk buildings have completed fire door inspections. Duties include:
- Carry out Fire risk assessments across all medium and low rise blocks in line with timescales.
- Undertake quarterly and annual Fire door inspections to all of high rise and high risk buildings.
- Collaborate with the wider business to ensure coherent and consistent delivery providing support to different teams where required.
- Ensure contractors are undertaking fire remedials works as required and liaise with contractors to ensure works are completed to a compliant level.
- Proactively communicate and be the main point of contact with all customers impacted by surveys and inspection you are undertaking: identifying any needs and explaining the process to them so they know what will happen and when.
- Attend site meetings customer/resident/leaseholder meetings associated with the delivery of the surveys/inspections as required.
- Identify and escalate any non-compliance activity recording and reporting an breaches and taking appropriate action where risks remain unresolved.
Requirements
- Experience of undertaking fire door inspections and/or surveys.
- Must have experience of undertaking fire risk assessments on medium and low-rise buildings.
- Minimum HNC level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent depth of experience.
- Strong knowledge of fire risk assessment fire door inspection building maintenance and health and safety requirements.
- Good working knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulatory requirements including the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess findings identify risk interpret compliance information and make evidence-based decisions.
- Familiarity with property compliance fire safety systems (e.g. C365 Risk hub and Asprey) spreadsheets and reporting tools.
- Full driving licence and own vehicle
- Right to Work in the UK - Visa Sponsorship is not available
- A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre-employment process - Criminal Conviction Checks
