At Bureau Veritas Commodities were looking for a Hot Area Laboratory Technician to join our Metals & Minerals Division in Witham. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career within a global business with full training provided and no previous furnace experience required.

What Youll Be Doing

Working within our furnace area youll play a vital role in preparing samples for laboratory analysis by:

• Accurately weighing and preparing samples.
• Mixing samples using specialised equipment and extracted cupboards.
• Loading samples into crucibles and operating furnace processes.
• Melting materials and pouring small quantities into moulds.
• Handling materials safely using pump trucks and equipment.
• Maintaining a clean organised and safe working environment.
• Following strict quality safety and environmental procedures.

This is a varied hands-on role where precision teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

What Were Looking For

You dont need previous furnace experiencewell provide full training. Were looking for individuals who have:

Excellent attention to detail
A positive and reliable approach to work
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to work rotating shifts
GCSE Maths or Science (Grade C/4 or above)
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
