Job Summary

Financial Crime Oversight & Challenge

  • Drive second line oversight and challenge of the Financial Crime Framework across the Shawbrook Group ensuring risks are appropriately identified managed and escalated to the Deputy MLRO and MLRO.
  • Develop and maintain Shawbrooks financial crime framework policies methodologies and controls across AML/CTF Proliferation Financing Fraud Sanctions Anti-Bribery & Corruption and Tax Evasion.
  • Identify control weaknesses and emerging risks supporting effective remediation and sustainable improvements.

Regulatory Engagement & Governance

  • Support regulatory engagement with the FCA and law enforcement including preparation of responses remediation plans and governance submissions.
  • Represent Financial Crime Compliance across governance forums and committees providing oversight of financial crime MI to identify and escalate material trends and risks.

Data Technology & Innovation

  • Support the evolution of Shawbrooks data-driven financial crime capability including enhanced MI analytics dynamic risk assessments and trend analysis.
  • Contribute to the responsible development and adoption of AI automation and emerging technologies to improve efficiency monitoring investigations and risk assessment whilst identifying associated criminal misuse risks.

Risk Management & Policy Oversight

  • Take ownership for creating and embedding Financial Crime policies and Standards across the Shawbrook Group supporting identification and remediation of non-compliance and control weaknesses.
  • Assist with financial crime risk assessments relating to products services industries jurisdictions and emerging business activities.

Advice Training & Culture

  • Provide timely practical financial crime advice to stakeholders and support training initiatives to foster a strong financial crime prevention culture across the Group.
  • Build effective relationships across first and second line functions to support collaboration and challenge.

Qualifications :

Essential

  • Strong understanding of UK financial crime regulatory requirements including MLRs POCA Sanctions regimes Fraud risk management and FCA expectations for systems and controls.
  • Experience operating within a financial crime compliance risk or advisory role within financial services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide practical risk-based solutions.
  • Experience working with financial crime data MI or analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide effective oversight and challenge in a commercially aware manner.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and governance forums.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting or developing financial crime technologies analytics or AI-enabled solutions including understanding of emerging risks associated with digital fraud and technology-enabled financial crime.
  • Professional financial crime qualification (e.g. ICA ACAMS CFE or equivalent).
