Finance Transformation Lead

Here at Calisen were driving the future of smart energy infrastructure and metering services. As part of an exciting transformation programme we are looking for an experienced Finance Transformation Lead to play a pivotal role in designing and delivering a fully integrated Metering-as-a-Service (MaaS) operating model.

Reporting to the Finance Director this is a unique opportunity to shape the future finance environment of a high volume service based business by combining finance technology data and automation to drive operational excellence.

Note: This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

About the Role

You will lead the finance transformation workstream within a major business programme. You will be responsible for developing scalable finance processes embedding automation and AI-enabled solutions and creating robust controls and governance frameworks that support future growth.

This role sits at the intersection of Finance Technology Data and Operations making it ideal for an individual who thrives in complex transformation environments and is passionate about driving change through innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance transformation workstream within a wider strategic programme.
• Design and implement the future-state finance operating model including processes controls and governance frameworks.
• Develop and deliver a clear finance transformation roadmap aligned to business objectives.
• Drive simplification standardisation and automation across finance operations.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable billing and revenue management processes.
• Manage finance-related programme risks dependencies and delivery outcomes.

What Were Looking For

Experience and Knowledge

We are seeking a highly capable transformation professional with experience in finance transformation systems implementation and process automation. You will have:

• Proven experience delivering finance transformation programmes and ERP implementations.
• Strong expertise in automated billing revenue assurance and financial control frameworks.
• Experience establishing governance reconciliation and exception management processes.
• The ability to lead and influence senior stakeholders across Finance IT Operations and Commercial functions.
• Experience translating commercial agreements and operational activity into scalable billing processes.
• A strong understanding of recurring revenue service-based or contract-driven business models.
• Knowledge of finance data structures master data governance and end-to-end systems integration.
• Experience implementing robust data governance audit trails and financial controls.
• A commercial mindset with a keen interest in automation analytics and emerging AI technologies.

Desirable Experience

• Utilities energy metering operational or infrastructure sector experience.
• Exposure to Metering-as-a-Service (MaaS) subscription or rental billing models.
• Experience supporting ERP and wider systems transformation programmes.
• Qualified Accountant (ACA ACCA or CIMA).

Technical Skills

• Workflow automation and process improvement tools.
• Delivery of automation efficiency and control improvements within finance functions.
• Understanding of AI-enabled finance and analytics solutions.
• Ability to identify and implement automation opportunities across end-to-end finance processes.

Personal Attributes

• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional workshops and project teams.
• Ability to operate effectively within large-scale transformation programmes.
• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
