Position Summary
An exciting opportunity in the Civil Reporting Team within the Civil Aerospace Financial Control Team has arisen. As the Civil Reporting Finance Manager you will lead delivery of the Civil UK HQ financials and will help ensure the quality and timely delivery of all financial reporting for Civil Aerospace through engagement of key stakeholders across the different Civil business areas GBS and Group Financial Control team.
Based in Derby this global role will report to the Civil Financial Controller.
This role will allow you to gain excellent insight into the breadth of the Civil business and see how it all comes together gaining direct experience of the financial reporting requirements across Civil and exposure to senior leadership and external auditors.
What you will be doing:
The Civil Reporting team is accountable for the delivery of end Civil financials throughout the year. This involves liaising with all businesses geographies and legal entities that make up Civil to ensure that period end management reporting quarterly statutory reporting and any ad-hoc financial reporting is complete accurate and on time.
- Lead plan and programme manage the delivery of on time quality well-communicated Civil reporting.
- Key customers include financial controllers Value stream SVPs and FBPs Civil FP&A Group FP&A Group Financial Control team and external auditors.
- Lead and inspire a team of 2 analysts whilst maximising engagement with a wider Civil reporting team co-ordinating with the key finance contacts for each business within Civil.
- Lead and manage the Civil reporting process - ensuring timely accurate and relevant financial and business information is delivered to Group Financial Control.
- Coordinate major reporting processes by setting timetables resolving ad-hoc queries and acting as the key contact for Group Finance GBS and other stakeholders.
- Review Civil financial performance at period end with FP&A focusing on areas such as non-underlying transactions balance sheet items operating costs restructuring and FX.
- Drive a Right First Time reporting culture by identifying understanding and resolving reporting issues effectively with key Civil business stakeholders.
- Act as Civil HFM system lead super user overseeing MDM changes HFM access governance validation clearance and period-end promotion to Group.
- Own Civil HQ forecasting reporting and business partnering including accountability for Civil UK HQ financials and management of a team of two Finance Analysts
Position qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience in a numerate discipline.
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
- A self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a track record of consistently delivering quality results to challenging timelines.
- Resilience problem solving and good judgment this role will involve helping resolve varying queries from a variety of stakeholders.
- Good technical experience; appreciation of FX and statutory requirements.
Preferred requirements:
- Good understanding of HFM preferable.
