A fantastic and welcoming school in Aylesbury is seeking an experienced Library Assistant to support the day-to-day running of its school library.
The successful candidate will help maintain an organised and engaging library environment while supporting pupils and staff with access to books resources and information.
Managing the daily operation of the school library.
Supporting pupils with borrowing and returning resources.
Maintaining accurate library records.
Shelving and organising books.
Assisting pupils with locating suitable resources.
Supporting library-based activities.
Maintaining a quiet and welcoming environment.
Monitoring library stock.
Processing new resources.
Reporting damaged or missing resources.
Supporting staff with resource requests.
Assisting with reading initiatives and school events.
Previous experience working within a school library or educational environment is essential.
Strong organisational skills.
Good knowledge of library resources.
Excellent communication skills.
Friendly and approachable manner.
Ability to work independently.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
