Job Summary

3 months contract Role with a local authority

Summary

  • This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority aimed at contributing to the delivery of an effective Childrens Social Care Service. The purpose of the role is to support vulnerable children young people and families in achieving positive outcomes. The post holder will provide practical emotional and social support contribute to assessments and care planning identify and respond to risks and work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with children and young people aged 025 and their families to support positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to assessments care planning reviews and interventions using a child-centred approach.
  • Deliver practical and emotional support to children young people and families within their homes and communities.
  • Support children and families in accordance with Child in Need Child Protection Looked After Children and other statutory care plans.
  • Promote childrens wellbeing resilience self-esteem and emotional development.
Requirements:

Essential Experience Required

  • Experience working with children young people and families in a social care education health youth work or community setting.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable children and families facing complex challenges.
  • Experience identifying safeguarding concerns and following child protection procedures.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Social Care Childcare Youth Work Health & Social Care Education or a related field.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to childrens services.

Additional Information

  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.
  • Enhanced DBS - Childrens & Adults Barred Lists.
  • We work on a bi-weekly schedule.
