Family Hub Practitioner
Job Summary
- Establish and maintain positive trusting relationships with children parents and carers.
- Offer personalized one-on-one support to families.
- Conduct home visits when necessary.
- Empower parents to build confidence and effective parenting skills.
- Encourage positive child development emotional wellbeing and readiness for school.
- Assist families facing various social emotional and practical difficulties.
- Implement evidence-based parenting programs.
- Lead group sessions workshops and drop-in activities.
- Support families with:
- Child development issues
- School readiness
- Behavior management
- Emotional wellbeing
- Parenting challenges
- Child development issues
- Track progress and outcomes using assessment and evaluation tools.
- Modify support plans to address the unique needs of each family.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partner agencies.
- Contribute to multi-agency plans and interventions.
- Engage with vulnerable and hard-to-reach families including:
- Families known to Childrens Services
- Teenage parents
- Care leavers
- Families in high-need communities
- Families known to Childrens Services
- Direct families to appropriate support services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
- Foster a safe welcoming and inclusive environment at the Family Hub.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and information sharing protocols.
- Experience in supporting children young people or families.
- Knowledge of child development and early years practices.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Experience in delivering one-on-one support and/or group-based interventions.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Capability to effectively engage with vulnerable families.
- Experience in collaborating with partner agencies.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to transport.
- Experience in Family Hubs Early Help Childrens Centres Family Support or Childrens Services.
- Experience in delivering parenting programs.
- Relevant qualification in Family Support Early Years Childcare Social Care Youth Work Health & Social Care or a related field.
- Experience working with vulnerable families and multi-agency teams.
- 20.05 per hour (Umbrella)
- 3 Month Contract (Potential Extension)
- 30 Hours Per Week

Required Skills:
Essential Requirements Experience supporting children young people or families. Knowledge of child development and early years practice. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles. Experience delivering one-to-one support and/or group-based interventions. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to engage vulnerable families effectively. Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies. Strong organisational and record-keeping skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently. Full UK Driving Licence and access to transport. Desirable Requirements Experience within Family Hubs Early Help Childrens Centres Family Support or Childrens Services. Experience delivering parenting programmes. Relevant qualification in Family Support Early Years Childcare Social Care Youth Work Health & Social Care or a related field. Experience working with vulnerable families and multi-agency teams.
