The Grammar School at Leeds isseekinga proactive and customer-focused Facilities Operative to join our Estates team at our Alwoodley Gates campus. Reporting to the Facilities Manager you will play a vital role in ensuring that our buildings and groundsremainsafe securewell-presentedand fully operational for pupilscolleaguesvisitorsand the wider school will contribute to the day-to-day maintenance and smooth running of our extensive school site providing excellent customer service and practical support across a wide range of facilities functions.
This varied and hands-on role includes carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks minor repairs decorating and room set-ups for lessons examinationseventsand external lettings. You will help manage access to the school premises support waste management and site cleanlinessassistwith deliveries and post distribution undertake regular swimming pool water testing and contribute to traffic and parking management during busy periods. Working as part of a multi-skilled Estates team you will respond to requests through the Estates helpdesk promote safe working practices and support colleagues across cleaninggroundsand other operational services asrequired.
We are looking for a flexible and reliable team player with a positive can-do attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent customer in a maintenance facilities or caretaking environment would beadvantageous along with a good understanding of health and safety requirements including COSHH. The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively prioritise a varied workload and adapt to the changing needs of a busy school environment.
