Reporting straight to the Premises Manager you will take hands-on responsibility for the physical upkeep of the school buildings and grounds. From proactive maintenance and fault-finding to managing site security and supporting daily school operations this role combines trade skills with routine compliance checks.

Key Responsibilities

• General Maintenance & DIY: Carry out scheduled and reactive repairs including carpentry changing locks painting and decorating and unblocking plumbing fixtures.

• Site Compliance & Testing: Perform and accurately record weekly fire alarm tests legionella water temperature checks and emergency lighting inspections.

• Security & Access Control: Manage keyholder duties unlock and secure perimeter gates/doors and respond to out-of-hours security alarms when scheduled on rotation.

• Event Logistics & Porters Work: Set up large-scale spaces for parent evenings sports fixtures mock exams and school productions.

• Environmental Upkeep: Monitor heating and lighting systems for energy efficiency grit pathways during winter months and keep external areas clear of litter.
