Join our Facilities team and help us keep our hospice sites safe welcoming and running smoothly for patients families volunteers and staff.
As a Facilities Maintenance & Safety Coordinator youll maintain our portfolio of offices retail and care locations. This is a varied and hands-on role combining maintenance compliance health and safety contractor management and property support.
What you will do
Leading the day-to-day management of buildings grounds and infrastructure across multiple sites.
Managing building systems (Heating VentilationAir Conditioning electrical water fire systems and more).
Overseeing contractors suppliers and service agreements (cleaning waste utilities security).
Driving continuous improvement sustainability and cost-efficiency initiatives.
Managing and developing a small facilities team including volunteers.
Supporting refurbishment upgrade and estate improvement projects.
Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulatory and statutory requirements.
Carry out routine maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance across multiple sites.
Identify and log maintenance issues and coordinate appropriate repair solutions.
Conduct regular health and safety and compliance checks including;
- Fire alarm testing
- Emergency lighting tests
- Water hygiene monitoring
- PAT testing administration and record keeping
Work closely with contractors volunteers and internal teams to ensure work is completed safely and effectively.
Support building compliance and risk management activities.
Carry out seasonal grounds maintenance and site inspections.
Distribute supplies and manage facilities-related equipment.
Undertake van inspections and maintain accurate records.
Support the organisations Health & Safety programme including risk assessments and incident reporting.
What you will need
- All candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
- Proven maintenance or facilities experience.
- A good level of IT literacy is required including confidence in using MicrosoftOffice applications email and other digital systems relevant to the role.
- We do not sponsor for this role and due to the minimal hours required for this role we cannot progress applications for candidates sponsored by another employer.
- Manual handling and/or heavy lifting.
- Full current valid UK driving licence.
- Access to a vehicle which can be used for work purposes.
- Car insurance including business cover.
- If successful a DBS check will be undertaken as part of the onboarding process.
