8 Months Contract with a Local Authority

Umbrella - 22.78 per hour - Umbrella

Job Purpose

As an Experienced Pest Control Technician you will deliver front-line pest control services across residential commercial and public sector environments carrying out inspections surveys treatments and pest prevention measures in line with legislation industry standards and best practice.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

Inspect investigate and assess pest infestations.

Identify appropriate treatment and pest management solutions.

Carry out pest treatments using traps pesticides biocides and deterrents.

Undertake pest proofing and prevention works.

Survey properties internally and externally including drains and communal areas.

Prepare quotations and recommendations for remedial works.

Carry out pigeon proofing and clearance activities.

Collect and transport stray dogs where required.

Handle store and transport pesticides in accordance with COSHH regulations.

Produce detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records.

Provide technical advice to residents contractors and council teams.

Support legal proceedings and act as an expert witness when required.

Use mobile technology and IT systems to manage workloads and records.

Report safeguarding concerns identified during visits.

Support apprentices and trainees through mentoring and guidance.

Essential Experience Required

RSPH Pest Control Technician Level 2 qualification (minimum requirement).

Previous Pest Control Technician experience.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience treating rodents cockroaches bed bugs fleas ants wasps and other common pests.

Experience carrying out pest surveys inspections and investigations.

Knowledge of BPCA Codes of Practice.

Knowledge of COSHH regulations and pesticide handling requirements.

Experience producing technical reports and recommendations.

Good customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

Additional Information to Note

Working Hours: 36 hours per week.

Southwark London SE15 3SN.

RSPH Pest Control Technician Level 2 Qualification Required.

Full UK Driving Licence Required.

Knowledge of Southwark geography advantageous.

On-site Interview.

Interview Date: 26th October 2026.

Interview Duration: Approximately 30 Minutes.
