Experienced Caretaker Needed ASAP for Established Primary School in Buckingham

A welcoming and well-established primary school in Buckingham Buckinghamshire is currently seeking an experienced and dependable Caretaker to join its premises team.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a safe secure and attractive environment for pupils staff and visitors. The successful candidate will become an important part of the schools wider support team and will be responsible for ensuring that the site operates effectively on a day-to-day basis.

The role will involve a mixture of planned maintenance general repairs security checks grounds duties and practical support around the school. You will also assist with setting up rooms for meetings assemblies and school events and will liaise with external contractors when required.

Key responsibilities:

• Carrying out daily checks of the school buildings and grounds

• Completing minor repairs and general maintenance

• Ensuring classrooms and communal areas are safe and functional

• Opening and securing the school site

• Monitoring doors gates alarms and other security measures

• Assisting with deliveries and moving equipment

• Preparing rooms for meetings and school events

• Liaising with contractors and reporting larger maintenance issues

• Maintaining appropriate premises and maintenance records

• Supporting the school with health and safety requirements

The ideal candidate will have previous caretaking maintenance facilities or premises experience. School experience would be advantageous although candidates from commercial residential or public-sector environments will also be considered.

You should be practical reliable and comfortable working independently. A good eye for detail and the ability to identify potential maintenance or safety issues before they become larger problems would be highly valued.
