An excellent secondary school in Hemel Hempstead is looking for an experienced Design & Technology Technician to support its practical curriculum.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to prepare workshops maintain equipment and ensure practical lessons can be delivered safely and effectively.
Preparing materials and resources for practical lessons.
Setting up workshops and equipment.
Maintaining tools and machinery.
Checking equipment before use.
Supporting teachers during practical lessons.
Assisting pupils with practical resources where appropriate.
Managing departmental stock.
Cleaning and maintaining workshop areas.
Following health and safety procedures.
Monitoring workshop equipment.
Reporting damaged or faulty machinery.
Ensuring tools and resources are stored safely.
Previous experience working as a DT Technician within a school is essential.
Practical workshop experience.
Knowledge of tools machinery and workshop procedures.
Strong understanding of health and safety.
Organised and methodical approach.
Ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
