Structural Examiner
Location: Wales

Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday
Looking for a role where youll play a vital part in keeping the UKs rail infrastructure safe
Were seeking a Structural Examiner to undertake examinations of rail structures across the network helping to identify defects assess structural condition and support the safe management of critical assets.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise site-based inspections and problem-solving while working on a wide variety of rail structures in challenging and rewarding environments.
What youll do;
Carry out structural examinations in line with Ground Control and Network Rail standards
Assess the condition of bridges retaining walls culverts and other rail structures
Identify defects deterioration movement water ingress and other structural issues
Record findings using photographs sketches measurements and digital reporting systems
Produce clear and accurate examination reports with supporting evidence
Escalate serious or safety-critical defects in line with company and client procedures
Undertake reconnaissance visits and support planning of examination activities
Work closely with operational teams to coordinate access and enabling works
Support examinations involving rope access work at height confined spaces and over-water structures where competent to do so
Contribute to improvements in safety reporting quality productivity and examination processes
Build strong working relationships with clients operational teams and stakeholders

What were looking for;
Experience within rail civil engineering structural inspections or asset assurance environments
Good understanding of structural behaviour deterioration mechanisms and defect identification
Experience producing technical reports and site records
Strong observational analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work safely in challenging site environments
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Commitment to safety quality and compliance
PTS (Personal Track Safety) - Essential
STE4 Structures Examination Competence
IRATA Level 1 or Level 3
Working at Height Medical
First Aid Qualification
Full UK Driving Licence
