Job Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced ETCS Signalling Test Engineer to join our growing rail engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of advanced railway signalling programmes within a safety-critical environment supporting the verification validation and testing of modern train control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute signalling and ETCS testing activities across various project stages.
  • Support system verification and validation to ensure compliance with operational and technical requirements.
  • Review system specifications technical documentation and test procedures.
  • Develop and maintain test plans test scripts and testing documentation.
  • Identify document and support the resolution of system defects and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with project systems software and installation teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support integration and commissioning activities where required.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation planning throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with railway safety quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications :

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience within railway signalling environments.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of ETCS systems.
  • Previous experience carrying out signalling system testing and verification activities.
  • Understanding of signalling integration validation and commissioning processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications requirements and engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working within safety-critical engineering projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience working with a leading signalling OEM or rail technology provider.
  • Experience supporting large-scale railway signalling programmes.
  • Knowledge of signalling assurance processes and industry standards.
  • Understanding of system engineering principles and requirements management.
  • Experience supporting factory integration dynamic or site testing activities.
