SMC European Technical Centre Mechanical Mechatronics or Electromechanical Engineer/Graduate Engineer

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our European Technical Centre. The successful engineer/graduate engineer will be required to deliver the best technical support to our customers the European subsidiaries the Japanese Technical Centre and SMC Headquarters. Within the role the engineer will be required to:

  • Support testing of products for customers
  • Support products development activities
  • Answer technical inquiries from our subsidiaries
  • Investigate product claims
  • Prepare various technical documentation
  • Identify develop and deliver training
  • Perform market research
  • Provide support for new products launches

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Mechanical Mechatronics Engineering or Electromechanical degree 2:2 minimum
  • A willingness to learn Basic Electrical Engineering principles.
  • Experience of writing technical reports.
  • SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to work as part of a multicultural team.
  • A valid in date passport as there will be some European travel in the role.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.

Desirable but not essential skills:

  • Experience with design and principle of operation of temperature control equipment.
  • Experience withControl Systems design and tuning.
  • Experience of designing mechanical components or assemblies for industrial machinery.
  • Experience of planning and managing own projects.
  • Experience of working with customers and suppliers.
  • LabView
  • Adriving licence permitting you to drive in the UKEuropean language skills.
  • Japanese language skills.
  • Technical training experience.
