In this high-impact senior role you will direct the physical infrastructure of our 24/7 educational community balancing historic building conservation with cutting-edge facilities management capital development projects and leadership of a skilled multi-trade maintenance team.

Job Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer you will assume total responsibility for estates strategy statutory compliance capital project procurement security architecture and environmental sustainability across boarding houses teaching blocks and expansive grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Campus Development: Oversee multi-million-pound capital projects heritage building preservation and modern facilities upgrades.

  • Rigorous Compliance Lead: Serve as the definitive authority on fire safety asbestos management Legionella control and comprehensive health & safety governance.

  • Team Leadership & Operations: Direct mentor and rota a dedicated team of caretakers groundskeepers and trade specialists to guarantee 24/7 operational readiness.

  • Contractor & Vendor Governance: Tender and manage major commercial service contracts ensuring strict adherence to budgets timelines and school standards.

  • Security & Emergency Management: Oversee advanced access control CCTV networks and act as the principal emergency responder for out-of-hours callouts.

  • Sustainability Initiatives: Drive eco-friendly campus upgrades carbon reduction goals and efficient utility management.
