We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed ESOL Lecturer to join our Adult Skills team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to learners from diverse backgrounds supporting them to develop English language skills for everyday life further study and employment in the UK.
You will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across ESOL programmes (1618 and adult learners) using innovative approaches to motivate and inspire. The role also involves supporting learners wider development embedding maths monitoring progress closely and contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality ESOL teaching to both adult and 1618 learners
Plan and deliver engaging lessons using a range of teaching and learning methods including digital approaches
Assess learner progress maintain accurate records and provide timely feedback
Support learners development in English and basic maths for life and work
Monitor attendance behaviour and achievement taking appropriate action to support success
Contribute to curriculum development quality assurance processes and course evaluation
Undertake administrative duties including enrolment timetabling assessment and reporting
Provide pastoral support guidance and mentoring to learners throughout their programme
Participate in recruitment activities such as open events and promotional activity
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to enhance the learner experience
Essential Criteria
Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy with strong communication skills
Relevant subject expertise and experience delivering ESOL provision
Excellent organisational analytical and classroom management skills
Commitment to student success equality diversity and safeguarding
Demonstrates numeracy skills at Level 3 standard
