Role Overview
A high-achieving and welcoming 1118 secondary school in Sheffield is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join its thriving English Faculty. This is a full-time permanent position delivering English Language and English Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with opportunities to teach A-Level for suitably qualified candidates.
The post is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners looking to progress their careers. You will join a collaborative supportive department committed to inspiring a love for reading creative writing and critical literary analysis.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging high-quality English lessons across KS3KS4 (and KS5 where applicable) fostering critical literacy and analytical skills.
Student Achievement: Maintain high academic expectations supporting students of all abilities to achieve outstanding outcomes in GCSE English Language and Literature.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to innovative scheme-of-work design literacy initiatives and extra-curricular enrichment such as debate clubs and creative writing workshops.
Qualifications: Relevant degree in English Literature English Language or a related discipline alongside QTS or PGCE.
Skills: Excellent subject knowledge strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusive classroom management.
