The successful candidate will teach engaging English lessons that develop students reading writing analytical and communication skills. You will deliver a varied curriculum across KS3 and prepare students thoroughly for GCSE English Language and Literature.

You will create well-structured lessons that challenge students to analyse texts carefully communicate ideas effectively and develop confidence with extended writing. Regular assessment will be used to monitor progress and identify areas requiring additional support.

The school is an established Outstanding School in Croydon with high expectations for academic achievement and behaviour. The English Department provides a broad and ambitious curriculum encouraging students to become confident readers and thoughtful writers.

Teachers work collaboratively on curriculum planning resources and assessment with opportunities for professional development throughout the academic year.

• English Degree or related subject

• QTS or recognised teaching qualification

• Secondary English teaching experience

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4

• GCSE English experience

• Strong subject knowledge

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Effective classroom management

• Strong planning and assessment skills

• Commitment to raising student achievement
