A highly regarded selective grammar school in Warwickshire is seeking an inspiring English Teacher to join its accomplished English faculty. This is a distinctive opportunity for a teacher who relishes working with academically able students and who wants to stretch and challenge young people in their engagement with literature and language.

The successful candidate will teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (AQA) alongside A-level English Literature in the sixth form. The faculty has a strong tradition of literary enrichment including author residencies theatre visits and a student-run literary journal and you will be expected to contribute actively to this programme. Responsibilities also include maintaining assessment records contributing to marking standardisation and supporting students preparing university personal statements where languages or literature are involved.

Requirements

• Degree in English and QTS

• Strong subject knowledge across KS35 including A-level English Literature

• A genuine passion for literature with breadth of reading and critical interest

• Experience working with high-ability students desirable

• Confidence contributing to an enriched ambitious extra-curricular English programme
