In this full-time role you will deliver high-quality English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with opportunities to teach A-Level English literature or language for suitably qualified candidates.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE in Secondary English alongside a degree in English Language English Literature or a related subject.
Teaching Mastery: Strong subject knowledge and a track record of delivering engaging high-impact lessons aligned with national curriculum standards and GCSE exam board specifications.
Classroom Management: Outstanding behavior management skills creating a structured positive and focused learning atmosphere.
Student Attainment: Experience in tracking pupil progress conducting mock assessments and leading targeted intervention sessions to elevate GCSE literacy attainment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver creative rigorous English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 where applicable).
Assess mark and track student work regularly offering constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Prepare Key Stage 4 cohorts thoroughly for GCSE examination components essay structure and text analysis.
Contribute to departmental schemes of work moderation exercises and extra-curricular literacy initiatives book clubs or creative writing groups.
