Candidate Requirements

• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE in Secondary English accompanied by an undergraduate degree in English Language English Literature or a related discipline.

• Student Attainment: Experience in tracking student progress evaluating essay writing skills and running targeted intervention sessions to boost GCSE literacy levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver comprehensive English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• Set structured homework mark assessments consistently and provide detailed feedback to guide pupil improvement.

• Prepare Key Stage 4 cohorts effectively for GCSE examination components reading comprehension and creative writing modules.

• Participate in departmental planning moderation exercises and extra-curricular reading groups or debate clubs.
