A high-achieving grammar school in Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a passionate and knowledgeable English Teacher to join its successful English department from September. You will teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and academic excellence.

Students will study a diverse range of literary texts poetry drama fiction and non-fiction while developing analytical writing critical evaluation and effective communication skills.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level English examinations supporting students in achieving outstanding academic outcomes and progression to higher education.

You will work collaboratively within a successful English department committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

• Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 KS4 and KS5

• Deliver engaging lessons that develop literacy and analytical skills

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level English examinations

• Assess student work and provide detailed constructive feedback

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching English at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level English Language and/or Literature

• Experience working in a grammar or high-achieving school setting

• Ability to contribute to debating creative writing or literary enrichment activities

• Strong examination preparation experience
