Treasury is committed to delivering competitive financing risk management and capital solutions for bp and its businesses.Capital Advisory & Structured Finance (CASF)is the Treasury team focused on funding and structuring financial advisory arrangement external financing including limited and non-recourse financing and assurance for bp businesses legal entities and M&A transactions. The team enables group strategy by bringing funding advisory and liquidity expertise and support to individual bp businesses delivering additional capital when required consistently optimising balance sheets and performing transactions with excellence.

You will work alongside other regional directors covering Americas and AsPac and supported by central internal funding specialists and regional / business SPAs.

The role leads all activity within the EMEA region supporting the business to deliver; acting as the senior trusted Treasury partner to business and finance. It is accountable for developing commercially sound financing solutions leading sensitive and complex negotiations deploying internal and external funding tools and ensuring that Treasury Unique Authorities and bp governance requirements are applied with rigour. The role also contributes to the operating model and capability development of the broader global CASF team including regional coverage central internal funding expertise and agile deployment of transaction specialists.

The role may also provide the opportunity to serve as a director or board member of selected bp subsidiaries or joint ventures subject to business need and applicable governance requirements.

• Lead the EMEA portfolio ensuring delivery of the Treasury agenda for assigned businesses regions or strategic funding themes ensuring clear priorities disciplined portfolio management and alignment with bps financial framework.
• Develop commercially sound funding and structuring solutions advise businesses on the suitable capital and corporate structure dividend flows intra-group funding external financing including project finance working capital financing JV financing asset leasing and guarantees.
• Deliver senior-level business partnership act as the Treasury point of contact for senior leaders earning a seat at the table on material business and investment decisions and providing clear practical challenge and advice.
• Lead complex deal execution and negotiations oversee multiple complex or sensitive transactions striking the right balance between delegation and personal involvement and capturing lessons learned to improve capability across CASF.
• Protect the group financial framework and Treasury governance provide assurance and advice on matters impacting on book and adjusted debt risk management intra-group structures dividends financing to third parties financial security dynamic assurance provisions and bank mandates.
• Shape the CASF operating model in consultation with the CASF leaders consider and propose ways of working for the team including clarifying responsibilities between regional coverage and central internal funding specialists maintain disciplined use of planning and portfolio tools considering technology options.
• Lead and develop people build capability through intelligent delegation coaching empowerment real-time feedback and visible Treasury citizenship developing mini corporate treasurers across the wider team.
• Drive simplification and continuous improvement bring market insight and a bias for simplification to improve team performance strengthen controls and reduce unnecessary process complexity.

Commercial and finance competence

• Strong understanding of corporate finance capital structures liquidity project finance structured finance risk allocation on and off balance sheet implications and commercial value drivers.
• Experienced in JV financing working capital facilities guarantees letters of credit dividends intra-group loans legal entity funding and on- and off-balance-sheet implications to deliver robust value-accretive solutions.
• A strong understanding of on-and off-balance sheet implications is desirable supporting the ability to provide robust funding and structuring advice.
• Experience in group funding and investment analysis with expertise in funding and financing structures capital markets treasury governance risk management and business-facing finance leadership.
• Able to use market insights and external standard methodology to shape portfolio-level financing options and business decisions.
• Has operated effectively in a global matrix balancing business objectives with internal policy risk management and group financial framework requirements.
• A university bachelors degree with a focus on finance economics business or a related subject area from a recognised institution or equivalent relevant experience.

• Demonstrates the ability to think strategically across bp Treasury and the relevant businesses. Develops long-term options that support bps financial framework capital allocation choices and business strategy while recognising trade-offs between cost risk liquidity credit metrics and operational deliverability.

Deal execution and negotiation leadership

• A proven track record to lead complex material transactions and sensitive negotiations both internally and externally - with banks multi-laterals institutional investors JV partners and other parties.

Exemplary communication skills

• Leads senior-level business and market-facing engagement with clarity and confidence. Maintains a no-surprises communication culture distils complex financing issues into clear choices and recommendations and adapts messaging for business Finance Treasury and external audiences.
• Consistent track record of project delivery.

Networking and Relationship Building

• Builds and maintains effective relationships across Finance businesses Tax Legal Company Secretariat FP&A and external finance providers. Positions Treasury as a trusted partner to bp businesses and as a credible counterparty to the external finance community.
• Has a strong external network and is able to bring current financing market perspectives standard process and innovation into bp decision-making.

Treasury governance and bp wiring

• Strong understanding of bp processes Treasury Unique Authorities investment governance risk management and legal entity funding requirements.

People leadership

• Proven ability to energise coach and empower a high-performing team of Treasury professionals. Delivers through others by setting clear priorities delegating intelligently giving timely feedback and building capability across Advisors Senior Advisors and Analysts.
