An excellent and highly regarded primary school in Aylesbury is looking for an experienced and dependable School Caretaker to join its premises team.
The school is committed to providing a safe welcoming and well-maintained environment for its pupils and staff. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep of the school site and will play an important role in ensuring the premises remain secure functional and presentable.
Opening and securing the school buildings and grounds.
Carrying out daily site inspections.
Completing general maintenance and minor repairs.
Undertaking basic plumbing carpentry and DIY tasks.
Monitoring heating lighting and security systems.
Completing routine health and safety checks.
Supporting fire safety and emergency procedures.
Maintaining playgrounds gardens and outdoor areas.
Moving furniture and equipment when required.
Liaising with contractors and external service providers.
Managing deliveries and assisting with storage.
Reporting maintenance issues promptly.
Ensuring the school remains clean safe and operational.
Previous experience working as a caretaker or premises professional within a school is essential.
Good practical maintenance and DIY skills.
Previous experience working within an educational environment.
Understanding of school health and safety procedures.
Ability to work independently and use initiative.
Reliable organised and proactive approach.
Good communication skills.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
