Job Summary
Electronics Test Engineer
This is a varied hands-on role where no two days are necessarily the same. You will also provide technical support for customer equipment including remote diagnostics and occasional visits to customer sites. The role would suit someone who is hands-on technically curious and enjoys getting to the root cause of complex electronic faults.

- Location: Rugeley Staffordshire
- Contract: Full-Time Permanent
- Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am 5:30pm
- Salary: Competitive dependent on experience

You will also provide technical support for customer equipment including remote diagnostics and occasional visits to customer sites. The role would suit someone who is hands-on technically curious and enjoys getting to the root cause of complex electronic faults.
Key Responsibilities
- Fault find diagnose and repair electronic products PCBs and customer-returned equipment.
- Read and interpret analogue and digital circuits at component level to identify and resolve faults.
- Test and validate electronic systems to ensure they meet required quality and performance standards.
- Carry out PCB assembly and rework including SMT and through-hole components.
- Load firmware and configuration files onto new products and equipment.
- Develop and improve QA testing calibration and repair procedures.
- Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing and calibration of new and existing customer equipment.
- Assist with final assembly wiring configuration and programming of equipment in the workshop.
- Provide remote diagnostics and technical support with occasional customer site visits for installation repair and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with Production R&D and Support teams to resolve technical issues and drive continuous improvement across products and processes.
You will ideally have:
- HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5 years experience in a similar electronics test repair production or engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuits components and technologies.
- Experience of fault finding at component and PCB level.
- Experience with PCB assembly and rework including SMT and through-hole technology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good IT/ICT literacy.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
- A genuine interest in technology and a desire to keep developing your technical skills.
- A positive proactive attitude and a willingness to get involved.
