We are working with a well-known and highly reputable facilities management contractor that is expanding its electrical division following continued growth and new contract wins.
The successful candidate will work across a regional portfolio of commercial and retail sites carrying out fixed-wire testing periodic inspection and testing EICRs and associated remedial works.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel across the region to various commercial and retail sites.
- Carry out periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations.
- Complete fixed-wire testing and produce accurate fully completed EICRs.
- Identify assess and correctly code electrical observations in accordance with BS 7671.
- Complete testing and certification independently ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.
- Carry out associated electrical remedial works minor installations and repairs.
- Undertake refurbishment and installation works involving:
- Electrical switchgear
- Distribution boards
- Mains and sub-mains cabling
- Containment systems
- Lighting
- Other electrical equipment
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
- Use laptops tablets and digital certification systems to complete reports and documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed safely professionally and within agreed client timescales.
- Maintain current technical knowledge through relevant continuing professional development.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet all of the following minimum requirements:
- JIB-recognised electrical apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an accepted equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition qualification.
- Current ECS Gold Card at Approved Electrician grade.
- City & Guilds 2391-51 or 2391-52 Level 3 qualification in periodic inspection and testing.
Candidates holding an alternative inspection and testing qualification must provide the exact qualification title and reference for approval before being considered.
- At least eight years overall experience within the electrical industry.
- At least two years demonstrable experience carrying out periodic inspection and testing.
- Proven experience producing complete and accurate EICRs independently.
- Recent experience completing commercial or retail EICR work.
- Strong working knowledge of BS 7671.
- Sound understanding of inspection and testing procedures and observation coding.
- Evidence of ongoing relevant CPD and up-to-date knowledge of changes to BS 7671.
- Good computer literacy and the ability to use laptops tablets and digital certification systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexible approach to working hours as occasional out-of-hours work may be required.
