Electrical Test Engineer

As an Electrical Test Engineer - ECU Validation you will join our Stevenage team to support our activities within the Space R&D sector.

You will support the testing and validation of electrical and electronic vehicle systems throughout the product development lifecycle. Working within an engineering and R&D environment you will be responsible for ECU testing diagnostics fault investigation and validation activities to ensure vehicle functions meet performance safety and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical and functional testing of ECUs and vehicle electronic systems.
• Develop and execute validation plans and test procedures.
• Conduct bench testing vehicle testing and system integration activities.
• Analyse CAN communications and network performance using industry-standard tools.
• Investigate electrical faults and support root cause analysis activities.
• Capture analyse and report test results to engineering stakeholders.
• Support reliability durability and performance validation programmes.
• Liaise with design software systems and supplier teams to resolve technical issues.
• Required Skills:
• Experience in ECU testing validation or verification activities.
• Strong background in electrical testing of automotive electronic systems.
• Knowledge of CAN Bus networks and vehicle communication protocols.
• Experience using CANoe CANalyzer oscilloscopes or similar diagnostic tools.
• Ability to perform fault finding diagnostics and root cause investigations.
• Experience producing technical reports and analysing test data.

Qualifications :

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• Previous experience within automotive testing validation or vehicle electronics environments.
• Understanding of ECU architectures electrical systems and vehicle diagnostics.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with Body Electronics Connected Car ADAS or Safety Systems.
• Knowledge of CANoe CANalyzer DDT2000 CON-X or PicoScope.
• Experience working within an OEM or Automotive R&D environment.
• Understanding of functional safety and safety-critical systems.
• Experience supporting reliability durability or verification & validation programmes.
