The Department for Education has announced that the British Council is set to take on the role of National Agency for Erasmus.

In December the UK and EU arrived at a political agreement that the UK would rejoin the Erasmus scheme in 2027. That agreement has now been legally formalised under the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement.

The British Council has a longstanding commitment to supporting international exchange. It was a lead partner in the Erasmus UK National Agency from 2014-20 where Erasmus made a significant contribution to the UKs cultural relations activities funding 8091 projects engaging 583757 UK participants and awarding around 1.1 billion to UK organisations.

Pay Band: Grade 7

Salary: 30839 gross per annum.

Contract Duration: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract with possibility of extension

Location: Cardiff London Belfast and Edinburgh.

Right to Work Requirements: Current right to work in the UK. The British Council is not able to support or sponsor work visa applications.

Role Purpose:

The Erasmus Marketing Manager Operations and Events will lead event development and delivery operational planning and marketing coordination for Erasmus ensuring activity is delivered efficiently consistently and to agreed standards.

You will also be responsible for overseeing event management supplier coordination budget tracking and operational reporting to support effective programme delivery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading the planning promotion and delivery of events webinars and stakeholder engagement activities to maximise participation and impact.
  • Collaborating with business leads and sector teams to align events and marketing activity with programme objectives priorities and timelines.
  • Developing engaging content and promotional assets to support event marketing delivery and post-event follow-up activities.
  • Managing relationships with external suppliers partners and speakers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality events.
  • Championing the attendee experience by gathering feedback evaluating outcomes and implementing improvements.
  • Monitoring tracking and reporting on event participation engagement outreach metrics and overall performance.
  • Maintaining and managing event pipelines trackers dashboards budgets workflows and reporting systems to ensure effective coordination and delivery.
  • Coordinating cross-functional inputs from marketing digital stakeholder engagement and business teams to deliver integrated campaigns and activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with brand guidelines data governance requirements marketing policies and budget management processes.
  • Analysing performance data evaluating marketing effectiveness benchmarking results and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

Role Specific Knowledge & Experience:

Essential

  • Experience developing and delivering events (online and face to face)
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and suppliers to coordinate delivery.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of marketing strategies and plans to support programmes/products.

Desirable

  • Experience in the cultural youth sport training education or charitable sectors.
  • Experience in a global or international organisation.
  • Experience in marketing operations campaign planning or performance tracking.
  • Experience in content commissioning.
  • Experience in marketing operations campaign planning or performance tracking
  • Experience of Cvent events platform

Specific Requirements

  • Degree in marketing communications or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent professional experience.
