DT Tech Needed ASAP to Shape Young Makers at Buckinghamshire Comprehensive

We are seeking a hands-on creative and safety-conscious Design & Technology (DT) Technician to support our busy and thriving D&T department in Buckinghamshire.

You will be instrumental in preparing materials maintaining workshop tools and machinery and ensuring students can bring their design ideas to life in a safe inspiring environment.

• Workshop Preparation: Prepare timber metals plastics and other materials using bandsaws pillar drills lathes and hand tools for student practical lessons.

• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect clean calibrate and service workshop machinery and hand tools to ensure compliance with strict safety standards.

• Health & Safety: Maintain a clean and hazard-free workshop environment enforce PPE protocols and assist with risk assessments and COSHH logs.

• Resource Management: Monitor stock levels of raw materials and hardware manage tool inventories and coordinate equipment ordering.

• Classroom Support: Assist teachers during lessons by guiding students on the safe and effective use of machinery CAD/CAM equipment and 3D printers.

• Experience: Practical background working with hand/power tools machinery or CAD/CAM equipment in an industrial carpentry or school workshop setting.

• Skills: Strong practical/making skills meticulous attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward workshop organization.

• Safety Awareness: A solid understanding of health and safety regulations within a workshop environment (e.g. CLEAPSS guidelines or similar).

• Education: Relevant qualifications in Design & Technology Engineering Product Design or a related trade/craft discipline.
