DSG Consultant Finance Manager
Job Summary
- The Finance Manager will play a pivotal leadership role within the Finance and Commercial Directorate contributing to the councils goal of establishing a Best in Class finance function. The role involves providing strategic financial leadership conducting thorough financial analysis and offering commercial insights to facilitate effective decision-making organizational transformation and the delivery of cost-effective services.
- Partner with budget managers to develop monitor and challenge budgets savings proposals and capital programs.
- Lead financial monitoring activities ensuring timely and accurate analysis of financial performance risks and opportunities.
- Support budget managers during budget preparation forecasting year-end processes and account closure.
- Ensure robust financial controls reconciliations and supporting documentation are maintained.
- Identify and manage financial pressures and risks recommending mitigating actions and escalating unresolved issues as necessary.
- Essential Experience Required:
- Experience administering Disabled Facilities Grants and home adaptation schemes.
- Experience interpreting Occupational Therapist recommendations and implementing practical housing solutions.
- Experience conducting property inspections surveys and technical assessments.
- Experience preparing specifications drawings schedules of work and project documentation.

- Essential Qualifications Required:
- CCAB-qualified accountant (ACA ACCA CIPFA ICAS) or CIMA qualified (or overseas equivalent).
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Postgraduate qualification or significant relevant experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge.

- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Location: 25 Windsor Road Slough Berkshire SL1 2EJ United Kingdom.
- Hybrid working arrangements: To be discussed at interview minimum 2 days per week.
- Schedule: Bi-weekly.
