This is a 1-month contract role with a local authority where the post holder will be responsible for driving a light goods vehicle (up to 3.5 tonnes). The role involves completing deliveries efficiently and accurately undertaking manual handling duties and providing a high standard of customer service to residents. The position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures and Council standards.
Responsibilities
Drive a light goods vehicle (3.5 tonne) safely and in accordance with all road traffic legislation and Council policies.
Deliver food waste bins and associated materials to residential properties throughout Coventry.
Load unload lift carry and manoeuvre bins and equipment safely throughout the working day.
Follow planned delivery schedules and routes to achieve daily delivery targets.
Complete delivery records and related documentation accurately and promptly.
Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
Essential Experience
Experience driving a light goods vehicle or similar vehicle.
Experience working in a customer-focused environment.
Experience following delivery schedules routes or work instructions.
Essential Qualifications
Full UK Driving Licence suitable for driving a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes.
Clean driving licence.
Additional Information
Working hours: 35 hours per week.
Location: 52d Drayton Park London Islington N5 1NS United Kingdom.
Enhanced DBS required.
Work pattern: Minimum of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Bi-weekly schedule.
