Role: Teacher of Drama (KS3KS5)

Location: Rayleigh Essex

Contract: Part-Time Permanent

Start Date: January 2027

Salary: Competitive pro-rata salary

A performing arts academy in Rayleigh is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join its department from January 2027. The successful candidate will deliver inspiring lessons and help coordinate a varied programme of performances and creative projects.

The Role
  • Teach Drama across key stages: Deliver practical and written Drama lessons from KS3 to KS5.

  • Develop performance techniques: Build confidence in acting movement voice and characterisation.

  • Coordinate creative projects: Support performances showcases and student-led productions.

  • Prepare examination groups: Guide GCSE and A-Level students through practical and written assessments.

  • Encourage collaboration: Use ensemble work and group projects to develop communication skills.

  • Support extracurricular activities: Contribute to clubs rehearsals and school events.

The Candidate
  • Drama specialist: Has strong knowledge of theatre performance and Drama education.

  • Qualified teacher: Holds QTS or an equivalent qualification.

  • Creative practitioner: Delivers energetic and imaginative lessons.

  • Production experienced: Has experience supporting performances or creative projects.

  • Strong organiser: Can manage rehearsals resources and deadlines.

  • Confident leader: Can motivate students and encourage positive teamwork.
