Job Summary
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Director Treasury Credit & Collections to lead the companys global treasury function including cash and liquidity management debt financing foreign exchange risk management banking relationships and treasury technology.
As Treasurer of Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions you will lead the companys global treasury function including cash and liquidity management debt financing foreign exchange risk management banking relationships and treasury technology. A key priority of the role is driving treasury transformation through the implementation and optimization of the Kyriba Treasury Management System (TMS) while strengthening controls improving cash visibility and enhancing operational efficiency.
Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams the Treasurer will optimize financial resources ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements and support the companys strategic growth initiatives.
The Treasurer is responsible for developing and executing the global treasury strategy establishing policies and procedures safeguarding company assets and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements. As the companys senior-most treasury professional the Treasurer will lead the global cash forecasting process ensuring forecast accuracy and clear explanations of variances to PLAN while optimizing liquidity and cash flow management driving accountability across regional treasury teams and implementing best-in-class treasury practices and technology solutions to enhance financial performance and risk management.
In addition this role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Credit & Collections function across North America and Latin America. Responsibilities include oversight of credit policy customer credit assessments and reviews collections and dispute resolution order release management and cash application activities. The Treasurer will ensure consistent execution of credit and risk management practices while balancing business growth customer satisfaction and working capital objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with 12 years of experience in treasury credit & collections accounting or related financial experience in positions of increasing scope and responsibility or equivalent combination.
- Minimum of 12 years of treasury experience preferably in a global technology company.
- Minimum of 8 years People Management Experience
- Kyriba Treasury Management System or other TMS experience is a plus.
- Proven expertise in treasury management including cash management liquidity planning foreign exchange debt financing investments and banking relationship management.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk management financial statement analysis credit rating methodologies and customer credit assessment.
- Experience developing and executing credit and collections strategies including dispute resolution risk mitigation and application of bankruptcy laws and secured credit practices.
- Demonstrated success leading treasury technology implementations automation initiatives and process improvement efforts that drive operational efficiency and best practices.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance growth objectives financial risk management and working capital optimization.
- Exceptional leadership organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication relationship-building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead through change.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Professional certification such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent is preferred.
- Additional language proficiency is a plus.
Responsibilities
Global Cash & Intercompany Management
- Manage inter-company cash including intercompany lending and capital injections for a global organization encompassing 25 entities providing support to all regions.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders including Legal Tax and business leaders to develop cash concentration repatriation and pooling structure strategies to meet global operational and capital requirements.
- Consolidate and confirm financial results and provide internal and external business results reporting to the CFO and Board of Directors monthly.
- Coordinate with the Tax department on tax planning and implications to cash position management.
Global Treasury Operations & Technology
- Develop and implement best practices for global treasury operations leveraging an integrated treasury system with core analytical systems and practices.
- Plan cash flows and forecast and analyze net interest expense and other key cash metrics.
- Provide deep understanding of international banking and treasury technology.
- Ensure integration of data produced into systems supports business and treasury objectives.
- Drive treasury transformation automation and operational efficiency through technology and best-practice processes.
Treasury Governance Compliance & Controls
- Ensure treasury activities follow treasury policies accounting guidelines and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. tax international statutory and central bank requirements.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Manage relationships with external auditors regarding controls compliance and business performance.
- Ensure accurate compilation analysis and reporting of accounting data.
Cash Flow Liquidity & Investment Management
- Develop and maintain a reliable global cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism.
- Manage borrowing needs intercompany loans and planning for repatriation of funds through loans or dividends.
- Maintain an up-to-date history of the companys borrowings since inception.
- Monitor global and in-country cash pooling to minimize excess cash balances reduce interest expense and maximize liquidity across the companys 25 entities.
- Provide monthly management reporting of cash flows and liquidity.
- Support budget and forecast processes for cash flow and liquidity.
- Ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs.
- Develop an investment policy for excess cash.
- Design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.
Banking & Financial Institution Relationships
- Oversee cash management banking and financial institution relationships.
- Negotiate bank and service fees.
- Manage banking relationships to support the companys global liquidity and financial objectives.
Global Treasury Leadership & Strategic Transactions
- Serve as the highest-ranking member within the Treasurer organization.
- Provide direct leadership to the Treasury team at headquarters and dotted-line responsibility for the rest of the world.
- Serve as the global lead for all Treasury-related projects.
- Lead treasury activities associated with acquisitions and divestitures by defining and executing effective cash management integration and divestiture strategies.
Financial Systems & Accounting
- Manage the selection implementation and/or operation of one or more accounting systems including Journal Entries General Ledger Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable Revenue Reconciliation and Cash Flows.
- Ensure systems and processes operate in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.
Audits & Special Projects
- Participate in annual audits and special projects.
- Work with external consultants or auditors as needed to provide required information.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.
The Treasurer ensures the company has sufficient cash to manage and sustain the business protects company assets and properly hedges financial risks and currency exposures. The Treasurer also manages the companys banking relationships and associated fees.
Complexity
The Treasurer is responsible for managing cash flows for a $1B organization consisting of more than 30 legal entities globally. The role requires a strong understanding of corporate currency exposure to ensure appropriate hedging is in place.
The Treasurer is accountable for managing and forecasting cash flow by country to ensure cash is available as needed for critical obligations such as payroll and vendor payments while optimizing liquidity minimizing financial risk and supporting the companys global operations.
