The Director Technical Solutions leads the end-to-end technical delivery of mission-critical Workplace Benefits initiativesfrom discovery and solution design through launch and transition to operations. This role translates business strategy into secure scalable solutions that improve customer outcomes enable growth and advance modernization including AI-enabled capabilities. You will align cross-functional teams make clear technical trade-offs and create the conditions for predictable high-quality delivery.
What you will do
- Own the technical roadmap and end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives from discovery and architecture through implementation and transition to operations.
- Translate business objectives into secure scalable solutions that improve customer outcomes enable growth and reduce friction.
- Lead cross-functional teams across architecture engineering integration security and operations providing clear direction and accountability.
- Make and communicate informed trade-offs across scope cost risk quality and delivery timelines.
- Identify and mitigate technical security performance compliance and operational risks.
- Ensure solutions are ready for launch and ongoing operation including testing support warranty security and lifecycle planning.
- Ensure delivery aligns with approved architecture patterns engineering standards security controls and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with business PMO architecture security risk operations and vendors to develop estimates manage dependencies and enable predictable delivery.
- Advance automation AI-enabled delivery and engineering practices that improve speed quality reliability and maintainability.
- Manage people and financial resources responsibly while building trusted relationships across internal and external partners.
- Build an inclusive accountable and high-performing culture through coaching continuous learning experimentation and a progress-over-perfection mindset.
What will you bring
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in business computer science or a related fieldor an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six or more years of progressive engineering or technology leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex regulated multi-system initiatives and leading teams through change.
- Strong business and systems thinking with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.
- Working knowledge of modern engineering practices including automated testing deployment automation and secure software delivery.
- Outcome-driven and pragmatic with a bias for action balancing speed risk quality and long-term sustainability.
- Clear influential communication and a track record of building collaborative relationships across business technology and vendor partners.
- Experience coaching technical practitioners and building accountable inclusive teams.
- A growth mindset: you seek feedback learn quickly and adapt your approach as priorities evolve.
- Experience leading teams through successful modernization initiatives.
- Experience delivering cloud-hosted solutions.
- Practical experience using AI to improve customer business or delivery outcomes.
- Knowledge of mainframe technologies financial services or the Canadian health insurance industry.
- A leadership style that combines approachability curiosity accountability and thoughtful innovation.

The base salary for this position is between $128200 - $178200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus commission etc).
