Director of Valves

The Role

Rubix Valve Technology is a specialist channel focussed upon the supply of engineered valves and ancillary products into high-value project-based customers. Value propositions include:

• Project supply stock proposition with brand and shipment consolidation.
• Added value specifying assembling configuring and testing per customer need.
• Competitive pricing supply direct from foundry.

The Director will establish a clear strategic vision and create alignment to deploy that vision to generate differentiated scalable growth.

Having full P&L responsibility the Director will lead and manage day-to-day commercial and operational activities to deliver upon agreed financial targets whilst maintaining a high-performance culture and high levels of customer and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Vision Establish and deliver Business Unit Product and Brand strategy in accordance with overall corporate strategy.

Planning Agree and deliver against annual resourcing and financial business plans.

Product Management Orchestrate a range of products and added value services to support sales across multiple channels.

Research & Development Ensure technical collaborating with customers to develop customer specific solutions gaining market needs insight to direct the development of new products.

Operational excellence - Oversee key production logistics and functional processes demonstrating sufficient ability to assist the management team to resolve any and all challenges that they may face promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Monitoring & Reporting Maintain structured periodical analytical review to allow effective decision making. To include:

• Daily operational KPIs and information pulses
• Monthly reporting and review of customer supplier and functional activity together with P&L performance and balance sheet controls.

Leading Day-to-day leadership of the organization guiding developing & coaching the team continually improving organizational performance.

Compliance Ensure compliance to legislative and industry requirements employing ISO14001 ISO45001 and ISO9001 managements systems to mitigate environmental H&S or product liability risk.

Key Skills / Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience across multiple functions including customer facing roles within businesses that specialise in the supply of Valves.
• A bachelors degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering business administration or in a related field is preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering products or solutions to MRO OEM or EPC customers with a deep understanding of the sales process in these markets.
• Experience with large-scale projects negotiations and technical product solutions.
• Having successfully led a function through repeating ISO9001 management system audits.
• Commercial Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand the P&L impact of all activity.
• Technical Engineering competency sufficient to effect credible leadership of design materials and other technical functions.
• Enterprise Resource Planning system competent.
• Exceptional practical problem solving with the ability to coach team members with problem resolution.
