Development Management Area Team Leader
Job Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bromleyto assist with the appointment of a Development Management Area Team Leader on a 6.5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 41.46 - 54.73 per hour
Summary:
An experienced Development Manager / Planning Team Leader is required to manage a Development Management team oversee complex planning applications make delegated planning decisions and provide professional guidance to planning officers. The role requires strong knowledge of planning legislation proven experience managing planning staff and a background in Development Management. The successful candidate will also represent the Council at Planning Committees planning inquiries appeals and Member meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a Development Management team and oversee the efficient delivery of its workload.
- Provide professional guidance and support to planning officers on development applications.
- Examine planning applications lead screening meetings and negotiate with applicants and developers to improve schemes.
- Make planning decisions under delegated powers.
- Prepare and review planning reports including reports relating to complex or contentious applications.
Essentials:
- Must be an experienced Planner with a strong Development Management background.
- MRTPI or eligibility for membership.
- In-depth knowledge of planning legislation and development control.
- Proven experience managing staff within a planning environment.
- Experience managing a heavy personal caseload and delivering planning reports to strict deadlines.
