Design & Technology Teacher Stevenage

Our client is seeking a creative enthusiastic and committed Design & Technology Teacher to join a successful secondary school in Stevenage from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about practical education and enjoys helping students develop their creativity technical understanding and problem-solving abilities.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4 delivering a combination of practical and theoretical lessons. You will support students as they develop their understanding of materials manufacturing processes design principles and product development.

The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering practical lessons and creating an environment where students can experiment develop ideas evaluate their work and improve their designs. Lessons should encourage students to think creatively while developing the technical skills required to turn concepts into finished products.

You will be responsible for lesson planning assessment classroom management and monitoring student progress. The successful teacher will also contribute to curriculum development and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure students receive a consistent and engaging Design & Technology education.

The department is well resourced and provides students with opportunities to work with a range of materials tools and technologies. You will be joining a supportive team where staff are encouraged to share ideas and develop their teaching practice.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Design & Technology Teacher with the ability to teach KS3 and KS4

  • Formal teaching qualification with QTS such as a PGCE

  • Strong subject knowledge across relevant areas of Design & Technology

  • Confidence delivering practical and theory-based lessons

  • Ability to maintain a safe and productive workshop/classroom environment

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Commitment to developing students creativity and practical abilities

  • Legal ability to work within the UK
