Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-impact Design Technology lessons that encourage creativity engineering principles and accurate material manipulation across Years 7 to 11.

• Work with a dedicated department technician to ensure tools are sharp machinery is serviced and materials are prepared.

• Conduct regular formative assessment to identify learning gaps and support students with portfolio work.

• Maintain a structured focused and calm workshop environment built on mutual respect and safety.

• Support extracurricular STEM initiatives and school displays celebrating student design achievements.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.

• Deep subject knowledge across a variety of design disciplines (Resistant Materials Product Design Graphics or Electronics).

• Strong communication skills with the ability to build strong respectful relationships with pupils.

• High levels of competence in working with hand tools machinery and CAD/CAM software.

• Full commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
