D&T ECT (Specialist in Product Design Resistant Materials or Engineering)
Full-time permanent contract September start
Our client is seeking an articulate hands-on Design & Technology ECT to join their high-performing department from September. You will deliver dynamic practical and theoretical lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Product Design / DT) with opportunities to contribute to post-16 vocational and A-Level courses.
The department boasts state-of-the-art facilities including 3D printing suites laser cutters CNC routers and CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks 2D Design). You will guide students through structural principles material properties iterative design and non-examined assessment (NEA) portfolios.
Located in Bath this prestigious academy is widely recognized for its high academic standards exemplary student conduct and commitment to staff development. ECTs benefit from a structured induction framework dedicated senior mentoring reduced timetable allocations and fully funded workshop safety certifications (DATA accreditation).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE completion expected by July
Degree in Design & Technology Product Design Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering
Solid understanding of workshop health and safety protocols and modern CAD/CAM software
Enthusiasm for practical problem-solving and inspiring future designers and engineers
