Job Summary
- Produce and update accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Develop robust structural sheet metal weldment and MEP design solutions for mobile healthcare units
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings layouts schematics and technical documentation for outsourced manufacturing partners
- Support design requirements for ventilation (HVAC) plumbing/water systems medical gases and electrical installations using AutoCAD schematics
- Maintain comprehensive design records drawing registers and strict change-control processes
- Work closely with Engineering Operations and Project teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure strict compliance with relevant healthcare standards (e.g. HTM guidance)
- Conduct periodic site and factory visits to inspect units and support ongoing mobile fleet maintenance
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer within mechanical engineering building services modular buildings coach building / vehicle structures or offsite manufacturing
- High proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling sheet metal weldments routing sketches) and AutoCAD (2D schematics and electrical)
- Strong practical understanding of MEP / HVAC systems (electrical ventilation plumbing) alongside solid mechanical fabrication principles
- Proven ability to read interpret and produce complex technical drawings schematics and specifications
- Proactive and self-motivated with a proactive mindset capable of working autonomously and delivering work to a high standard
