Gees is North Oxfords neighbourhood restaurant. Set within a unique Grade II listed Victorian Conservatory Gees has been welcoming guests for over four decades and in Summer 2026 underwent a bold transformation. Gees newest chapter offers an evolved take on Modern British cooking; taking pride inusing only the freshest carefully sourced ingredients and combining nostalgic cuts with intuitive flavour combinations that evolve with the continues as a well-established destination for adventurous exciting and contemporary cooking.

Gees is part of The Oxford Collection; a small privately owned group of two luxury 5* hotels and apartments three restaurants that consists of the Old Bank Hotel the Old Parsonage Hotel 36 St Giles Parsonage Grill Gees Restaurant & Bar and Quod Restaurant & Bar. We have 80 bedrooms across three iconic properties in central Oxford with unrivalled views across the citys beautiful skyline.

We are looking for a Demi Chef de Partie to join the Gees Kitchen team.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Thrive on giving guests a memorable experience
  • Be passionate and knowledgeable about food
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Have effective time management skills

Typical duties of this role are:

  • Learning to run a section during service
  • Following recipe and presentation specifications
  • When in section maintain prep levels appropriate to service
  • Ensure all deliveries are put away as soon as they arrive and stock is rotated using the First In First Out method checking Use by Dates
  • Attend and participate in all team meetings

Requirements for the Demi Chef de Partie position:

  • Work under intense pressure
  • Passionate about cooking seasonal ingredients
  • Experience in similar restaurants is beneficial although full training will be provided

We offer a sensible shift pattern across a 45-hour working week (Monday to Sunday rota with 2 days off) with an OTE up to 16.15 per hour 37791.00 per annum.

Based on 45 hours per week and including non-contractual tronc (service charge).

Part-time hours may also be considered.
