The Role

We are looking for a Delivery Manager to take ownership of the successful delivery of consultancy engagements ensuring projects are delivered to the right standard across time cost and quality. This role is suited to someone who understands how to lead client engagements in a consulting environment balancing strong delivery discipline with commercial awareness client confidence and a clear focus on outcomes.

The Delivery Manager will oversee either larger more complex engagements or a small portfolio of projects depending on size value and complexity. They will work closely with technical sales and operations teams to keep delivery on track manage risks and escalations support commercial performance and identify opportunities to add further value for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of consultancy engagements ensuring agreed outcomes are achieved for clients.
• Manage the overall delivery quality of engagements across time cost and quality.
• Oversee larger projects or a small portfolio of smaller engagements maintaining a clear view of progress risks dependencies and priorities.
• Take responsibility for project commercials including budget management resource planning delivery performance and commercial control.
• Build trusted client relationships maintaining strong engagement throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Work closely with technical teams to ensure solutions are delivered effectively without needing to be hands-on in technical build activity.
• Collaborate with sales and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for upsell cross-sell or future phases of work.
• Raise issues risks and escalations clearly and at the right time helping to remove blockers and protect successful delivery.
• Support delivery strategy by embedding consistent ways of working and contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
• Help increase delivery management maturity across the business by modelling strong consulting and engagement leadership behaviours.

Skills and Attributes Required

• Proven experience leading client-facing consultancy engagements or complex project delivery.
• Strong understanding of project commercials including budgets resources profitability and delivery performance.
• Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams at once staying close to detail while keeping focus on the bigger picture.
• Excellent client engagement skills with the confidence to influence challenge and guide stakeholders positively.
• Strong consulting behaviours including ownership commercial awareness clear communication and outcome-led thinking.
• Comfortable working with technical teams and able to understand core data concepts such as data platforms data modelling and solution delivery.
• Ability to distinguish between technical quality and overall delivery quality ensuring the full engagement is fit for purpose.
• Confident in managing risks issues and escalations in a calm structured and proactive way.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across delivery technical sales and operations teams.
• A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to help shape and strengthen delivery ways of working.

Advantageous Qualifications and Skills

• Experience within a consultancy professional services or similar client-facing delivery environment.
• Exposure to data analytics AI cloud or Microsoft technology projects.
• Understanding of Microsoft Azure Microsoft Fabric Power BI Databricks or wider data platform concepts.
• Project management or delivery management training or certifications although these are not essential.
• Experience managing larger higher-value or more complex engagements.
• Experience supporting commercial growth through spotting opportunities for additional phases expanded scope or wider client support.
• Experience improving delivery frameworks processes or operating models.
