Defined Benefit Loading Services Manager

Were looking for an experienced operational people leader to manage a specialist team that supports the onboarding of Defined Benefit pension schemes.

Youll lead a team of pensions and data specialists who are responsible for validating preparing and loading scheme data accurately and on time. Alongside day-to-day operations youll also help to strengthen processes manage risk and build a service that can respond effectively as business demands change.

This is a varied leadership opportunity for someone who understands Defined Benefit pensions enjoys developing people and can bring structure and clarity to a complex operational environment.

This role is a Hybrid working opportunity which means you can split your time between your home and the office to find a work-life balance that works for you.

What youll be doing:

• Leading coaching and developing a team of pensions and data specialists
• Setting clear objectives and maintaining strong performance and quality standards
• Overseeing the validation preparation and loading of customer and scheme data
• Managing valuation loadings full scheme loadings and Early Scheme Reviews
• Planning resources to meet operational service levels and contractual commitments
• Identifying operational and data risks and leading appropriate mitigation activity
• Improving processes and controls through collaboration and continuous improvement
• Supporting strategic planning and operational readiness across Loading Services

Who were looking for:

• Strong knowledge of Defined Benefit pension schemes
• Experience leading and developing an operational team
• Experience managing data-led or customer-focused operations within insurance banking or a comparable regulated environment
• A relevant pensions qualification such as PMI or CII or equivalent practical experience
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Good analytical problem-solving and decision-making capability
• Confidence building relationships and influencing different stakeholders
• A hands-on leadership style with a strong focus on quality and customer outcomes
